Phosphate is one of the nutrients with high consumption and often low availability, both in reef aquariums and in pristine natural coral reefs. Phosphate is essential for numerous growth processes of the coral skeleton and tissue.

In the natural environment of the coral reef, insoluble, particulate excretions from fish and plankton supply corals with phosphate, which is essential for metabolism and growth. These particles can be easily filtered from the water and utilized by the corals. Tropic Marin® has incorporated this knowledge into a novel product, Tropic Marin® Phos-Feed, for the continuous phosphate supply in reef aquariums.

Tropic Marin® Phos-Feed is modeled on the natural phosphate supply mechanisms found in coral reefs. For the first time, phosphate is precisely dosed in your reef aquarium without constantly increasing the phosphate concentration in the water column. This stimulates coral growth, and the corals display natural skeletal development patterns and vibrant colors, just as they would in a healthy coral reef under natural conditions. Insoluble phosphate particles are the most effective way to deliver this essential nutrient to the corals.

Application: Tropic Marin® Phos-Feed can be added at any time of day or night. Since the application will slightly cloud the water, and to take advantage of the corals' nocturnal polyp opening, Tropic Marin® Phos-Feed should preferably be added around the time the lights are turned off. Temporary cloudiness is normal. Once the cloudiness subsides, the water will be exceptionally clear.

Fill a container halfway with approximately 200 ml of reverse osmosis water and add the calculated amount of Tropic Marin® Phos-Feed. Mix the powder and water thoroughly by stirring. Pour the suspension into the aquarium's current and rinse the container with aquarium water.

Dosage: Begin with a daily dose of 1 ml (small measuring spoon) of Tropic Marin® Phos-Feed per 200 liters of aquarium water. If, after four weeks, a phosphate concentration between 0.05 ppm and 0.15 ppm is not reached in the aquarium, double the dosage to 2 ml (large measuring spoon) per 200 liters. We recommend not exceeding a maximum dosage of 4 ml per 200 liters.
