🪸 Berghia snails ( Berghia stephanieae ) – natural Aiptasia control

Our Berghia snails are bred entirely in Germany and shipped directly from our facility . Controlled breeding conditions allow us to offer you animals of excellent size, vitality, and quality – all at a fair price.
After about two months, our Berghia plants reach a size of approximately 2.5 cm .

🌿 100% reef-safe & specialized

Berghia anemones are completely reef-safe and feed exclusively on Aiptasia , one of the most common and persistent pest anemones in saltwater aquariums. They do not eat other organisms, making them ideal for targeted pest control.

🧪 Clean, safe breeding conditions

Our animals are raised in modern, pristine systems without fish or other invertebrates. This minimizes the risk of introducing unwanted algae, pathogens, or parasites .

🌙 Behavior

Berghia are primarily nocturnal and prefer to retreat during the day. They only leave their hiding places when hungry and can then be observed searching for food during the day.

🪱 Stocking recommendation

Previously, the rule was: 1 Berghia per 50 liters of aquarium volume – to prevent them from running out of food too quickly.
Thanks to our new offer, you can now also purchase Aiptasia directly from us . This allows you to care for your Berghia anemones long-term and avoids the need to transfer them immediately once the aquarium is free of glass anemones.

Recommended stocking density in case of heavy infestation: up to 5 Berghia per 10 l .
This allows for faster and more effective control of the infestation and makes our larger packages particularly economical.

📦 Delivery & Settling In

Each order includes:

  • A detailed settling-in guide

  • A pipette for safely transferring the animals

*Information refers to a water temperature of 25 °C

⚠️ Important information

  • Avoid predatory fish: Many wrasses eat Berghia. Although the snails store the stinging cells of the Aiptasia in their cerata, this does not offer reliable protection in the aquarium – especially not during daylight hours or when they are searching for food.

  • Acclimatization should be carried out carefully: Please follow the enclosed instructions precisely to avoid endangering the animals during introduction.
