How many Berghia snails do I need for my aquarium?
That depends on the severity of the glass anemone infestation. Rule of thumb: • Light infestation: 2–3 Berghia • Medium infestation: 5-10 Berghia • Severe infestation: 10 or more Berghia
If you are unsure, we recommend using a few more animals, as they feed exclusively on glass anemones.
How long does it take for glass anemones to disappear?
Typically, initial results are visible after 1–3 weeks.
Depending on the severity of the infestation and the size of the tank, it can take 4–8 weeks for the glass anemones to disappear completely.
👉 Patience is important – Berghia work effectively, but discreetly.
How do I use Berghia snails correctly?
Insert the Berghia after switching off the lights.
Briefly reduce the current and carefully place the animals near the glass anemones.
⚠️ Do not use during the day – Berghia are nocturnal.
Are Berghia snails reef-safe?
Yes. Berghia is 100% reef safe.
They feed exclusively on glass anemones (Aiptasia) and do not harm corals, fish or other invertebrates.
What happens when there are no more glass anemones in the aquarium?
Once there are no more glass anemones, Berghia can no longer find food.
In this case, you can:
pass it on to other aquarists
transfer to another infested tank
or use specifically for breeding
